There is something eerie about when you know you’ve started your day right on track. It was as if everything inside of you felt calm and shiny, which made us nod and smile because we knew we were in alignment with our actions.
I’m not kidding you guys; several things have been happening through me, and I just discovered new interesting things that I think might be able to help you to see the world from a different perspective.
I told you in previous articles that I’ve been having “insomnia”, or what people call fear about what the future might hold. It was like several nights I’ve become the observer in my mind. My mind kept pouring, asking to be watched because she was too scared that something bad might happen to her. 2 days ago, when I was in that state of mind “again”, I was tempted to get a prescription from a doctor, so I was able to sleep, because let me tell you… My mind tricked me into giving me that sensation of “exhausting”, “what if I will be left behind”, or “it’s giving unproductive”. All those negative narratives incessantly bombarded my mind like a glitch in reality, repeating the same nightmare frame. It gave me a false illusion that I was stuck in those same prediction loops all over again. In fact, I was already searching for sleeping pills or had almost booked myself for a doctor appointment until I decided to ask ChatGPT for a random question to give my brain something to chew on, and somehow that led me into a new inner narrative that immediately changed the whole sensation in my body and mind. I turned out to have subconsciously coded my brain as: “I saw my future as a pressure. " That pressure turned out to be daunting me for a while, which made the brain give me the illusion of 40 different possibilities to help me "survive". The minute I removed that pressure from my system, everything changed immediately.
I realised that since I used to live in survival mode, 95% of my thoughts are based on fear, doubt, and guilt, without me even realising that. The fact that when I thought about whether I was able to control what I thought about what I wanted, it meant I was in the right direction. It turned out to create some sort of “control” that gave my nervous system a sign that I was in that doubting state about my whole life. The simple 1-second quick change of your thought – that’s the only thing you needed; the rest is your nervous system's job to sort what we say about what we believe into ourselves.
Let’s go back into that future narrative of what I just created. Instead of seeing your future as “expectation”, you simply change that expectation to become something that is absolutely mine to have, which will immediately put the pressure on the background noise. The thing is, when you see your future as expectation, that narrative about “must succeed” will automatically appear, and your nervous system will see that as pressure rather than an “of course it’s mine” to get. The nervous system doesn’t understand the narrative or situation that the mind produced; it only cares about repetition with the thoughts and emotional certainty when you are doing it. And when you started doing this new trick, you subconsciously taught the nervous system a new association:
future vision + relaxed body = safe
It feels almost too simple, but this is literally how the brain rewires prediction loops. One simple thought and emotional certainty can change the whole internal brain on how it operates. It’s more about how you softly give your mind the right direction of inner narrative that you want to rewrite for your life. Also, a little note: your nervous system is soft like clay, not stone. It is shaped less by force and more by touch. What you repeat with gentleness becomes architecture; what you rehearse with fear becomes weathering.
Knowing this new method, I just discovered that it has changed the whole of my game plan so far. I thought I did everything right until all those sleepless nights that I had, which I was grateful for. The thing that I knew was when you grew up in survival mode environment, having a stressed-free or finding a fun better method to be chewed on will be seen as “lazy” or “unproductive”… But the thing is, when you know those old methods don’t bring you any goods but rather add stress to your life, that just means they're not worth your time at all. Truth be told, you can rewrite the new script for your nervous system based on your preference. Mine will be doing something that isn't hurting my nervous system.
These led me to a second point that I gained: “the power of grounding”. It is more like how precisely you can bring back your awareness towards your body. So, I’ve been playing around with how to put the perfect amount of attention on every situation that I have. What I missed was that when I did that, I was mainly focused on the world rather than bringing all my awareness back into my body when I experienced the world. That really saved me so much of my energy and increased my attention span dramatically. Grounding for me is when I am putting my awareness back into the sensation of what my body gives me when I am writing, creating content for my social media, or walking. That right of attention is what will help you to be able to put the right thoughts on every action that you do in your daily life. When you can change your attention towards your body, everything you see will become neutral, as if it's just some sort of everyone-is-just-doing-their-own-thing until we take our attention and focus on that specific thing, and that immediately becomes your thing.
The key here is to be able to make your system not react with something that you pay a lot of attention to, so your nervous system is able to see it as a normal thing to have. Hence why, when you can train yourself to be able to bring your awareness back inside your body while you are doing your daily activities in life, the nervous system will immediately upgrade its software so that you can experience different things in life.
I hope this will help you, and let me know how it goes <3

Liona
